Pogue's Run Picnic, 2015.
The Pogue’s Run Picnics are a series of neighborhood picnics held along the banks of Pogue’s Run on Indianapolis’s Near Eastside. Picnic blankets are inspired by a map of the waterway, and used at community picnic events, celebrating the Pogue’s Run watershed, and bringing neighbors together and up close to the waterway in their neighborhoods.
To design the picnic blankets, I walked Pogue's Run with a GPS app, tracing the profile of the waterway; stream segments were translated into individual patterns; and these patterns were fabricated into 9' picnic blankets.
